Modern Abstract Art

My husband and I have been working a lot on the website over the last few weeks. Because of Balthasart, as you know, I have had to rephotograph all my work. With the new photos we wanted to present a new, more modern overview, so we worked on it for a very long time. All the works that are still available are now much more colorful and detailed in the photos. Take a look!

What kind of year was that...! I didn't publish much, was very busy with commissioned work and explored different techniques. Calligraphy, photorealistic drawings with pencil on paper, new techniques with acrylic on canvas - an exciting and instructive year. But it was also a dark year in which I struggled a lot with my mental health. I'm doing well, but the times have been hard to come by at times. I hope you're off to a fantastic new year and take care of yourselves and your loved ones.

As you already know, I offered my work to a large audience on Balthasart and my photographs of the works had to be better, brighter, more real. I took the time to completely re-photograph all the older works with the new setting - at least the ones that are still here on the shelf :-P - and am currently editing the photos so that I can present you with even more detailed representations of my work. And at the moment I'm also annoyed with an AI that is supposed to give me a nice, new picture as a suitable background. But the lighting conditions are driving me crazy at the moment. An update will be coming very soon!

As you know, I still love to experiment. My style, at least with the spatula, I have already found, but there is still so much that I would like to test so much! This time I present you "Lindra" as the result of the last experiment - despite choosing opaque colors, I have achieved such a glazed look through the base that I can say: I am proud. Proud of the diversity of the medium of color. It is fascinating.

Today I present you a work that brought me between the commissioned work the necessary freedom that my creativity needs. "Pharenia" is a dream of warm and girly pink and purple tones that invites you to fantasize and let you forget the cruelty of the world a bit.

While photographing all the work came to me today a work that I had totally forgotten: last year I experimented with different colors. This has resulted in various works, but I do not want to publish them all. But one of them somehow has a very unique effect on me and I want to share it with you. "Nadros" is a one-piece that makes me think of maritime myths. What does it remind you of?

The art marketplace "balthasart" has overwhelmed me a little with the specifications of the image sizes of the works. You know my pictures here from the gallery. They are for the mobile version of the website and generally, so that you do not have so long waiting times, extra a little compressed. Unfortunately, this is absolutely not what I wanted for this website. The photos are supposed to have a minimum size, which I can only achieve by rephotographing all the work. This will be a heck of a lot of work, because as some of you know, I wrap every single stretcher with a UV protective coating after finishing, so that no water, dust or the like gets to the images and the works don't lose their color brilliance even after months in my storage. So that means: unpack, take a picture, pack again. Lengthy. For the new photos I also bought new equipment, so that the works are much more colorful on the photos. Therefore, however, it now comes to a few "delays", as far as new work is concerned. Because here and there you have already noticed short gaps: I also have to continue to do commissioned work.

After a long phone call with this art marketplace, which would like to have me represented in its ranks as an artist, I decided to just give it a try: I will upload my work there and maybe I will find some lovers of my work across Europe. Cross your fingers for me :-)

In the last few days I received a really interesting email: There are, as you probably know, different websites that take care of marketing art and try to always present news to their customers. One such art marketplace approached me after they found me on Instagram and asked if I would be interested in presenting my work on their marketplace and offer it for sale. Through this request I feel quite good and apparently my works are well received. But do I fit on such a website?

When I mourned the onset of winter in Rodgau a little and thought of the soon spring, "Kiros" was created. It is a two-parter, which was deliberately kept dark. The bright accents of white and green brighten the canvas and the playful circles running across the canvas give the work a certain lightness. Paintings inspired by nature are still my favorite works.

"Shima" is my latest work that I would like to introduce to you today. I have tried a new format and somehow find upright work also very aesthetic. Maybe I'll do something like this all the time. Provided it goes down well with you! Let me know with pleasure :-)

After being busy with some commissioned work, I finally finished the next work. Today I present you "Kethari", very colorful and expressive. Again I have tried new techniques and found much joy in it. Just turn off the head and go unleashes my creativity - so you may be curious about the next works! :-)

Luck in misfortune for me and a disastrous outcome for the owner of the Unverpacktladen in Mülheim: As you know, I have since March 2021 a cooperation with the owner of the Unverpacktladen chain "Natürlich frei". This allows me to show my work without a gallery or the like. Because even if the galleries have reopened in the meantime, we wanted to continue together the initiative of the city of Rodgau "art trade". - For renovation work in the café of the Unverpacktladen my paintings were taken down, so that in the following week the room can be refurbished in a modern way. Unfortunately, there was a fire in the café directly on Monday, which makes a core renovation of the building necessary. The store remains closed for the time being, the owners are now busy with many things and therefore we have suspended the joint action for the time being. After a complete renovation we will talk again regarding the exhibition of my work. Until then, there is no area where you can see the work live. If you are still interested, please let me know. Of course, you always have the opportunity to see the work in advance in real, if you want that.

In the Unverpacktladen "Natürlich frei" in Mülheim you can see my work again from the coming week. Due to the fact that the images were so well received by you, I have decided to want to present again "Cubic" and "Iris" there. Because similar to a certain saying I think to myself: "New town, new luck." :-) The works are shown in the café of the store; so you can relax with a coffee with friends or family like to make a picture of my work again. In a cozier ambience, my art also works differently. Look at it with pleasure!

At the end of this month, unfortunately, the doors of the Unverpacktladen "Natürlich frei" in Rodgau will be closed forever. However, in the future you will still be able to see my work in the owner's main store in Mülheim. When it is so far, I can unfortunately not predict at the moment, but I will of course let you know.

Hello my dears, please excuse that I have not reported for so long and could not present you any new work. Unfortunately, I had a medium sized mishap during the daily chopping work while cooking - which is why I couldn't work for a very long time now. Unfortunately, I could not grip properly for a very long time and the scarring of the wound took what felt like an eternity. In the meantime I can (even if only briefly) pursue my personal artistic development again. So please stay tuned, because soon there will be new works on my website!

From today you can watch "Iris", "Cubic" and also the new work "Fahera" presented today live at the Unverpacktladen Natürlichfrei in Rodgau. The works will hang there for a few days, so there is enough time ;-) And "Fahera", the new three-piece, is the first work in 2022. Held in the colors considered for 2022 red or light red and lavender, it is a festive start to the new year! I sincerely hope that you all got through the New Year well and that you are able to keep your resolution this year. Hopefully 2022 will be a successful year!

Hello dear ones! For a while I have to fight with quite supply problems and unfortunately all materials have become more expensive. For this reason, I have decided to charge from 01.02.2022 my work with an artist factor of 1.7. Of course, the works that are already available for purchase now will remain at their current prices. This change applies only to new works.

Today I would like to present you my last work for this year: "Iris". And it was like always - you plan something, already know exactly what colors and what techniques you want to use.... and the result is a completely different work. This time I gave free rein to my thoughts and am surprised by how chaotic and at the same time orderly the result is. Of course I hope you like this work - surely similar ones will follow. :)

Today I present to you a very significant work for me. The other day there was a situation in which I personally felt that I was not being treated as I had actually expected, and in which I was now looking for new ways in favor of my future. The two-parter "Findra" is my journey for compromises and alternatives. The expression of several very chaotic and stressful days are immortalized in this work. I am glad that I was able to bring all this to the screen.

From today you can see the works "Sarcera", "Lysalee" and also "Kicar" live in the Unverpacktladen "natürlich frei" in Rodgau. In the pre-Christmas period there will also be an Advent donation flea market, which will support a real heart and future issue with the proceeds: the preservation of our forest. Therefore: The proceeds for the first work that I sell through contacts in the Unverpacktladen will support 50% as a donation to this project.

This time I present you a work that has devoured a lot of time to become dry. "Baris" is a little experiment of transparency and opacity. With the result I'm really very happy because it looks to me like a chalk picture after a rainy day and I think that's just great because... who has not spent his time painting as a child with sidewalk chalk?

Just published here and already exhibited: since this afternoon you can see my new work "Kicar" in the shop window at St. Peter Apotheke in Rodgau Weiskirchen.

Today I am very proud to show you my latest work: "Kicar"! In recent days I have thought a lot about the "ideals of beauty" in the art industry and wanted to recreate a work corresponding to this ideal. Joan Miró was for me always the icon par excellence, however, his style is not mine - the more beautiful I find that I could bring my own interpretation of the style of this icon with "Kicar" on the canvas. The result I would describe as very tidy and "clean", modern and quite timeless. I very much hope that you also like this work!

As you know, I always work with new techniques and try to challenge myself. This creates the different works that you have already seen. With "Sarcera" I show you how chaotic color splashes in the right environment can contribute to a 'clean' impression. The image invites myself to dream. And hopefully you too! :-)

From today on you will not be able to see any more of my work in the unpacked store "Natürlich frei" in Rodgau. In the context of the "Intercultural Weeks" of our community, an artist from Iran is now exhibiting there. But after the Rodgau ART this year my newest works will be exhibited there again! I look forward as always very much to your contact.

Bold contrasts are a frequently thought out theme on my part. Complementary colors shine so wonderfully with each other and I have felt for ages no longer used neon pink. This literally screamed for an expressive new piece of art for me. I tried to give the background some more dynamics and depth with a gradient. The purple-blue frame breaks through this dynamic a bit and the bright green creates these strong contrasts that the image almost glows. The colors reinforce each other and thus draw me under their spell.

Bright and colorful comes my latest work "Fiman" therefore. Last I had some to do, but to find my relaxation while working has made me so happy that I wanted to create something bold, colorful and gaudy. After much deliberation and planning, I haphazardly spackled on it, painted with acrylic markers, gave the chaos an opportunity with splashes of color. This dynamic image shows me a side of myself, of which I did not know if it is still there: my youthful self, for which nothing could be too bright or crazy.

After a break due to health, I present you today my latest work "Yeena". In my last works I have always celebrated the fun of dabbing methodology and thin layers of paint and had a lot of fun with it, have learned new things and wanted to combine everything this time. Also this time I have learned something in terms of technique and am always fascinated by how much you can develop as an artist in a new direction, if you only dare. As a model for this image, I started with a cool summer day and somehow came out to the end (at least to my sensibilities) on a sunny fall day. Do you also see a season?

Since you now know how I like to work with my spatulas, I wanted to dare this time to something where the structure of the surface has a decisive influence on the overall picture. Unfortunately, I haven't yet dared to use texture paste, which has been in my workroom for a while now. Instead, I tried to create the desired texture with a lot of paint with my new work "Reefa". The effect is stronger than I thought! I'm sure I'll do that more often again :-)

Today I show you another work that has the spring fever in me bubbling over. With the spatula and this time with stencil and spray paint this work was created. For me, shades of green and pink are synonymous with a sea of flowers in my parents' allotment at the time. And when the sun was shining... it was just dreamlike.

Spring is coming! Meanwhile, it is less frosty outside, the sun shines brightly and also warms the spirits. In keeping with the season, I want to bring you my understanding of spring closer and the beginning makes "Zercass", a two-part, which awakens in me the joy of the colorful sea of flowers of the coming months. This time I have again worked a lot with the spatula and had so much fun! This way the spring can go on with pleasure :-P

As part of the "KunstHandel" initiative of our agency for sports, culture and volunteering in Rodgau, artists are now allowed to exhibit their works in shop windows and other free spaces at various retailers who want to participate in this action. I am very happy to participate in this event and would like to say thank you once again to the initiators and the retailers who want to offer me a stage. Starting today, you can admire my work in the window of the St. Peter Pharmacy in Rodgau Weiskirchen and in the Unverpacktladen "natürlichfrei" in Rodgau Nieder-Roden. Come on by!

After all the experimenting around, I have today again something rather classic-modern for you: "Anserm". Probably you have not escaped that I just love geometric shapes and the new work is full of it! Classic and modern are for me two terms that do not necessarily fit together - but I had to find a 'straight line' for me and exactly this line to take quite literally has led me to this new three-piece.

As you can see, you can choose any imaginable format within the framework of a commissioned work - of course, also multi-part! Whether 20x20 cm or 180x120 cm or even any other format: nothing is impossible and can therefore be worked for any room and any wall to fit any theme. Yesterday, the two works of my latest commissioned work arrived at her client. The two 20x20 cm large images "Cadi" and "Cidi" thus join a previously privately made work from last year. - Of course, the requirement was that all three works should fit together, both thematically and stylistically. Besides the gray frame, the color choice was very crucial here, because each basic color can be found in one of the other pictures. In my gallery you can find a few close-ups and a view in the new home.

There are many things that inspire me: nature, technology and especially my friends, who are always there for me and encourage me when I need it. To try new techniques and incorporate new motifs or perspectives into my work, yes, you need a bit of courage for that. A new perspective shows "Dravor", which was also created through the influence of my friends.

It's Thursday - and like every Thursday I present you my latest work. Today: Icaria - once again a four-piece, which is not as colorful with black, red and white as many of the last works. I based it on my very first multipart, which I never published and which now hangs above my dining room table. I also tried new techniques and am really surprised by the result - I really like the effects! Hopefully the image will be well received by you guys too. Stay well :)

Today I present you my new work: "Crina". Now that I've already used this format once, I just wanted to try it again.

It's cold outside, the new year has dawned and in keeping with this theme, I present you my new, very wintry-looking work "Sebari". With a total of 60 x 50 cm, it is one of the smaller works of mine, but I had as always a lot of fun and could live out wonderfully. I really hope you like what you see. Stay healthy!

Today I present to you "Hokkari". This work was created very intuitively and reflects for me so many aspects of my time in the Ruhr area, Germany.

The mini-series comes to an end: Aisas is the second piece of my Christmas-themed mini-series. Both pieces can be hung together and make a playful, but still adult, overall picture. In line with my pricing policy, I can also offer a reduced price for the complete series (i.e. as a two-piece mural).

Christmas is getting closer and closer and even though the situation is very tense because of the current health situation, I really hope that you can spend the 3rd Advent with some relaxation and full of anticipation for Christmas. Stay healthy!

Today, after a short break, I present you my new work: "Aisar". With only 40 x 40 cm it is a relatively small painting, which I present within a mini-series consisting of two works.

Hello my dears! Today there were some changes to the website again. After thinking about it for a long time, I decided to put my prices on every single picture so that you no longer have to calculate it yourself. The basis for price calculation has of course remained the same. There are still a few changes planned for the site - so please come back soon ;-)

New format, new color combination and a well-known motif: "Lysalee" I would like to introduce you to today. In light colors, the picture looks very happy, radiant and calm to me. How does it affect you?

I am very happy to present my newest work "Piper" to you today! I've always found the idea of "picture in picture" very appealing and I just tried it out ;-)

I am always looking for new ideas for my work and I am very enthusiastic about bright colors. For the occasion, I was looking for light colors that on the one hand go well together and on the other hand harmonize perfectly despite different colors. The result was "Canari", a colorful three-piece.

"Mido" is my last work from the "subsidiary colors" series. Although I wanted to show the harmony in the differences with each work, each picture appears harmonious in itself, but brings a very different feeling across.

You already know my "standard" formats well enough. That's why I decided to use a different format, which should still be multi-part. After a bit of planning, I came to the decision to work on a three-part with three identical canvases. With three 20x50 cm frames and a total size of 60x50 cm I present you "Throas" today.

Today I am introducing you to my second work from the “subsidiary colors” series. The picture is called "Daro" and shows again how much harmony two very different colors can radiate.

Today I present you my new work "Zircello". I chose different techniques for the individual layers of paint to find out more about how they interact with each other. It was a lot of fun and this will definitely not be the last work of its kind.

Again and again I hear "I have no space in my apartment for those large pictures." and that's why I decided to create small series with small pictures measuring 40x40 cm. Each series deals with its own topic and I will try to work on the respective topic with different colors. I will start today with a miniseries with the theme "subsidiary colors" to which three works will belong. "Cari" is the first picture in this series. I tried to work with two colors that didn't go together well - What do you think?

My closest friends support me in every way and they always inspire me to try new things. "Nyanja" is a work that reflects this inspiration to me. I worked this picture with my painting knives, with which I created my very own "handwriting".

As you know, I'm still trying out some stuff. I fell in love with the painting knife, but you should always think outside the box, right? My latest work "Nimuh" was created with a little use of painting knives, a lot of brush technique and a spray can. I experimented a bit with translucent colors. What do you think? :)

"Do something different" I thought to myself when I started my new painting "Evero". Starting like I did with "Snow", I wanted to combine many of my used techniques in my new pictures. So I brushed, troweled, dabbed and used new colors. What do you think about that? :-)

The weather is changeable, but still summery. With "Anic" I tried to capture my feeling the last hot temperatured days. What do you think? :)

"Skyta" was finished today. You can see in my online gallery whether I have succeeded in capturing the radiance of the sky or not!

With "Zuath" I took a little excursion in a new directionin art and deviated from my often used rigid shapes and sharp edges. With this very colorful work, I was finally able to tick off things that have occupied me for a long time. Freedom!

And there are already three weeks over. Today I picked up "Nystria" from the gallery in Mülheim. Don't worry, it wasn't my last exhibition there. ;-)

I know that I haven't published anything for a long time. I find that a shame myself, but ... surprise! Unfortunately, I couldn't be creative and work, because my room was chaotic for a few days, then empty and then a construction site. The result is awesome and I can really get going again! The moment has come: my first art exhibition. With only one work, but people see something drawn by me! This is really exciting and it seems that it's well received? Klaus, the curator, put my work in a very nice and obvious place in the gallery. Great!

It will be exciting! Today was my first visit in the Ruhrgalergy. I submitted my work for the group exhibition "SCHÖNER!". I was warmly welcomed and so I'm just happier looking forward to the exhibition on July 12th finally starts.

There is an appointment! The Beethoven exhibition "SCHÖNER!" from the Ruhr Gallery in Mülheim an der Ruhr takes place in three parts in order to meet the specified protective measures. My work "Nystria" will be on view in the Ruhr Galerie (Ruhrstraße 3, 45468 Mülheim / Ruhr, Germany) from July 12th to August 2nd. Maybe I'll see you there! I'm really excited.

"Avrine" has a new home! Today we start our journey to a small town in rural Saxony, Germany. It is difficult to say goodbye, but it makes me very happy that this individual work will soon decorate the wall of an apartment.

Yesterday my work "Nystria", from the series "Symphonies of Hope", became the work of art of the day in the online exhibition "NOCH SCHÖNER!" selected and published by the Ruhr Galerie Mülheim. As soon as the situation permits, this work will also be performed live at the associated exhibition "SCHÖNER!" to be admired on site. Until then, I hope that you are all well!

At the moment everyone is probably wishing for order and structure. I expressed this longing with "Sahri". Relatively simple and reduced, the result is very modern and 'tidy'. What do you think?

Inspired by my best friend, "Shanim" was created, a multi-part that was worked with only three colors. The path from neon pink shoelaces to this work went around a few corners, but it's best to see for yourself ;-)

Capturing a feeling in a work is the essence of art. Even if we are all facing difficult times at the moment, we should not forget which feelings inspire us. "Varro" is my embodiment of passion and desire. This work is worked with the spatula and numerous shades of red.

Let your mind wander, spontaneously choose colors and start painting. When I thought of a turquoise beach, I lost myself in the waves of the water and that's how "Witrox" was born.

Today the Beethoven exhibition "SCHÖNER" was originally supposed to start in the Ruhr Galerie in Mülheim an der Ruhr. Unfortunately, it was postponed indefinitely. As part of this exhibition, I wanted to present one of my works from the "Symphonies of Hope" mini series in line with the topic. This mini series comprises two works, one of which I would like to show today: "Nystrea". The second work will be shown for the first time, as planned, at the exhibition in the Ruhr Galerie. You can be excited!

After my move, not yet everything is as I personally would like it to be. A lot of things in the apartment and in my study look pretty messy. After the last artworks, I finally wanted to work with the spatula again and took chaos as a model: "Clarine" was the result. After completion, I noticed that there is a certain order in every chaos. ;-)

In every situation there is still a little girl in every adult woman and I took up this topic in the four-part work "Simay". It was very exciting to work and play with these lovely colors. The main tools were brushes and stencils.

The joint exhibition planned by the Ruhr Gallery in Mülheim an der Ruhr "SCHÖNER!", at which I should have celebrated my debut with one work, is unfortunately postponed until further notice due to the taken preventatives regarding the coronavirus cases in Germany. Unfortunately, a new date has not yet been set. - I'm sad about it because I was looking forward to the vernissage, but I understand the arrangements and hope for an appointment soon.

The move has finally been completed! Unfortunately, everything took a little longer than we expected. But now - in my new study - I can start again. I am very happy to be able to work creatively again; I really missed it.

Finally the time has come! My husband and I have an appointment to collect the keys for our new apartment in Rodgau. We are very happy that the move is coming and that we will soon be out of the urban jungle. In the meantime, I ask for a little patience, cause due to the preparations for the move I have little time to work.

"Skyline" was completed in the middle of preparations for the move. The first sunny days of the year inspired me to create this. This work was mainly done with the brush and spray paint. The asymmetry creates unrest, the colors suggest calm - a balanced couple.

Try and see what comes out: "Cubic" was created yesterday. The work was done with a brush, bubble wrap, painter's crepe and a lot of patience due to drying times. The spatial effect with the shades is an absulute eye-catcher.

The one-piece "Forest" was finished last night. The picture was worked with my beloved painting knives. I got the inspiration for this picture on a walk in the forest with my husband and my Border Collie Mio. Nature is a gift!

In keeping with the turn of the year, my website has been comprehensively updated and finally an English version is also available!

The last day of the year - that's why I wholeheartedly wish you a nice New Year's Eve party and a good start to the new year 2020 with your loved ones!

The end of the year is rich in contrast: "Leydric". The leveled middle piece looks a bit dark and is in direct contrast to the white border. The abstract lettering and the final finish in black or white dissolve this contrast a little.

Colorful and in a new format comes "Dukar". Finished this morning, the interplay of colors captivates. The main tool was again the painting knife, so that the unique structure of the surface lives up to the term 'unique'.

Christmas is just around the corner, gifts are available and meals are planned. I wish everyone a contemplative and beautiful party in this way. Enjoy the holidays and let your mind wander. It's time to relax from everyday life!

The first commissioned work "Argos" was published today. The work commissioned at the beginning of December should be dynamic and lively but only contain black, white and possibly some silver. After much thought, the work started during the month. The result can now also be found in the gallery.

"You get known through presence," I was told when I decided to turn my hobby into a profession. I have to agree with this person without envy - So today I took another step towards "presence": Instagram. You can now find me at @artbymariawagner and can contact me a little more directly. I am very happy about support!

Christmas is coming soon, unfortunately the weather is not feeling wintry in Essen. To escape from this gray, "Isyma" is just the thing. Today the four-part was finished. Flowery colors and floral, abstract spatulated sections indicate the next season. Light and dark sections compete with rich and cheerful colors - in keeping with spring.

Is street art worth a try? A little bit of it shows "Avrine". This three-part set captivates with two things: the center of the picture, highlighted in gray with free drapes and an abstract lettering, and the color-contrasting outer areas, which show an interplay of matt and glossy elements. A lot of tension that promises fascination.

"Carenia", my first fully spatulated four-part, was created today. The asymmetrical frames of the individual canvases and the color transitions bring a certain dynamic with them. A real eye-catcher!

Earthy, heavy and dark: "Mundus" finished today. The course of the colors is fascinating and thanks to the new matt drying colors, a contrast with glossy and non-glossy textures can be displayed.

New colors, new canvases - a dream! Matt drying, rich colors. The stretched canvases on stretcher bars are of really good quality. A new partnership is born: with the Paintersisters in Neuss!

It's getting colder outside. But it's still pretty rainy. How about snow? The four-part "Snow" was created with this in mind. The background is spotted with two shades of blue, several brushed or spatulated lines cover the entire image and snowflakes were sprayed on as a finish. Very wintry!

The website style has remained - as promised. Now image views also work perfectly on mobile devices. That makes me very proud.

Clear edges, order in the disorder: "Amari", a three-part, embodies exactly that. The background is worked with the brush and the quarders were spotted, brushed, filled - a little bit of everything. It's always worth trying out!

It should be abstract and modern - based on this basic understanding, the four-part "Pink Passion" was finished this morning. Clear edges and color differences create a lot of excitement and some effects were achieved by dabbing.

"Bakas" was completed this morning. The background is set in silver with a colorful, completely filled tile pattern. The incorporated structures in the color are really eye-catchers.

"Tundra" was finished today. Anticipation for winter with this four-piece! The background is spotted on white in several colors. I applied the rest with my painting knife. Shiny finish - done!

Hello world! My website is finally online. Everything is still in its infancy but 'what lasts a long time is finally good' as the german saying goes.
